Not Easily Broken

T. D. Jakes brings another novel to life, this time with the release of Not Easily Broken. The film, though cinematically unriveting, manages to cover ground commonly overlooked within the black community — a husband (Morris Chestnut) working diligently to save his marriage. That alone makes this film worth the price of admission. When you sit down however, don’t expect to see any major cinematic achievements in filmmaking. While Taraji P. Henson shines as always, the rest of the cast makes the film feel more like a glorified chitlin’ circuit stage play. –dewayne rogers
