For Biggie fans, this album doesn’t offer much in the way of new music, but does give die-hards a chance to peep some of the rap icon’s coveted demo tracks. Low in quality, but high in vivid lyricism, the tracks—“Microphone Murderer,” “Love No Hoes” and “Guaranteed Raw” are rare, and actually helped him secure his deal. Otherwise filled mostly with songs from Ready to Die and Life After Death, Biggie’s pubescent son, Christopher Wallace II, does make an odd appearance on “One More Chance,” rapping over and sometimes in place of Big’s original vocals. All in all, Notorious is a decent buy for obsessed fans, but is relatively unnecessary for anyone else that owns his first two albums. –rogue marie
