usually don’t have a barber in every city, or on their payrolls or even
traveling in their entourages – so they look for the hottest barbershop
in the locales they visit. While these shops may not be the traditional
corner barbershops with old guys, politics and checkers; they’re still
legendary for the verbal volley, colorfully painted discussions,
camaraderie and, of course, hair cuts.
Cutmaster Styles is a new kind of barber. As a celebrity stylist he’s
on the cutting edge – literally. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the men’s hair
specialist of African American and Italian heritage, has taken the
grooming game to a new level, earning new found respect along the way.
“I’ve cut artists’ hair from L.A. to Miami, and I’ve been to many video
and movie sets. I’ve done street promotions for So So Def Recordings in
Atlanta, and platform work for various hair products. My goal is to be
the personal barber to all rap artists, actors, producers and like
that,” says the barber extraordinaire.
Cutmaster Styles emphasizes that he is available to travel and tour,
and is happy to work his artistry on video and movie sets. “Sounds like
fun right. I make great money, travel around the world and there are a
… load of perks,” he says.
True, Cutmaster is on the guest list for all the hot happenings around
Detroit and it’s not considered a party until he’s in the house. “I’m
just going to keep doing what I do. I’m a do me and I’m a do it big!”
