Not only is Q-Tip’s latest album titled The Renaissance, but the rapper is also proving that he’s a Renaissance man, with an appearance Friday, March 7 on “The Martha Stewart Show.” Q-Tip will be helping the gracious living expert make glass bathroom accessories for storing toiletries, namely Q-tips.

Def Jam executive Shakir Stewart’s dream to have a hip-hop channel will come to fruition thanks to his childhood friend, Shawn Granberry and movie producer Robert Watts II. The two have collaborated to launch The Hip Hop Music Channel, which will begin airing on April 12, Stewart’s birthday. “The Hip Hop Music Channel is focused on becoming the No. 1 distributor and marketer of hip-hop culture in the world,” Granberry — who will serve as CEO of the channel — said in a statement. “Our focus on the emerging Asian market will introduce new and old hip-hop artist[s] to emerging markets around the world.”
Stankonia Gets Funky — The Royal Flush Exclusive Listening Event
Grammy-nominated production duo Royal Flush brought out industry insiders for a sample of the sound that they’ve been honing over at OutKast’s Stankonia Studios. The group also introduced their in-house band, The Jaxx. “The event was pretty much to showcase who we are,” says Jeron Ward, half of the music production duo. “We also wanted to showcase our band and show that besides being producers we’re also musicians.” The group is currently working on Big Boi’s upcoming album, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, as well as an album titled, The Interview, which is scheduled to be released this fall on Purple Ribbon.
