Starring: Henry Brandon, Peter Bruni
Studio: Image Entertainment
Rated: R
If you are a true movie buff, you’re already familiar with the legacy of this 1976 movie. For everyone else, Assault on Precinct 13 is hands down one of the greatest low-budget action flicks of all time. The plot is simple: a vicious, heavily armed gang attacks a police station that’s cut off and isolated from any type of help. This simple premise in the hands of John Carpenter becomes a raw, intense, gritty movie experience that surpasses many of the so-called action flicks we watch today. This restored version looks and sounds great. If you’ve never seen this movie or have seen the remake, do yourself a favor and check out the original. –dark abyss
