Who would have thought that a show about guys on fishing boats in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan crab fishing season would be any kind of hit. But obviously, the folks at Discovery Channel knew they had something special on their hands. “Deadliest Catch” is a hit, and with good reason. Supposedly, Alaskan crab fishing is one on the world’s harshest jobs. This series follows the fishing boats as they venture out during the October and January fishing seasons. The dangers are real and ever-present, affecting fisherman and sometimes even the camera and film crew. It’s definitely the best reason to watch the Discovery Channel. –dark abyss
