Donald Faison: Most Known Unknown
Donald Faison

Government name: Donald Faison

Occupation: Actor

Born Day: June 22

Hometown: New York City

First Spotted: The first time we really had a chance to appreciate the comedic talents of Faison was in 1995, when we first met Murray in the big screen version of Clueless.

Brand Building: Faison has managed to keep the checks coming in, having reprised his role as Murray on the TV version of “Clueless” for 61 episodes. He is currently in the midst of his eighth season on the long running medical comedy, “Scrubs.”

Next Up: Faison returns to the big screen to lead the Benny Boom directed, dark comedy Next Day Air, costarring Mike Epps, Wood Harris and Mos Def.

His Thoughts on the Film: “I’m excited about the project. I think it’s a film that will gain popularity as the word spreads on how good it is. It’s not something that people are used to seeing in terms of black comedies, and I love that about this film.”

Money Matters: “It’s been nice to continue to get work, and to be able to be as consistent as I have been in my career. For me, my only goal now is to keep working so I can ensure that my kids get the best education that is available. I stopped working for me a long time ago. It is all about them.”

Mixed Views of Fame: “I can’t lie and say that it doesn’t matter if I’m recognized for my talents as an entertainer. Every actor wants that. I do enjoy that I can walk outside, and spend time with my family without having to worry about being swarmed by the paparazzi. I won’t complain about that. But just once, I wish someone would come up to me and ask ‘Hey are you Donald Faison,’ instead of always saying, ‘Hey Murray,’ or ‘What’s up Scrubs.’ Just once I wish that would happen. That would be so cool.”
