Rolling out spent the day with the delightful Ms. Williams in New York as she primped for her next role: cover girl. Here’s a glimpse of the action behind the scenes. –amir shaw
Noon – Serena Williams arrives at Keith Major Studios in New York flanked by her stylist, hair technician and makeup artist.
12:45 p.m. – Williams is styled for her first look, beginning with hair and makeup. 1:00 p.m. – Williams takes her first photos in a strapless asymmetrical body dress accented with an orange skinny belt. |

1:30 p.m. – After her first photo session, Williams sits down with rolling out sports for a 30-minute in-depth interview. She discusses her rise in tennis and explains why she continues to strive for greatness in the sport she loves. | |
2:00 p.m. – Once the interview concludes, Williams changes into a ruffled, retro two-piece bikini in coral, paired with turquoise jewelry. | |
2:15 p.m. – Photographer Keith Major talks with rolling out about capturing Williams’ beauty. Major believes that achieving the perfect shot takes patience and focus. | |
2:30 p.m. – Williams gets her hair touched up and explains why she likes to dress in bright colors. | |
2:45 p.m. – For her final look, the sexy Williams changes into a Grecian-inspired, floor-length gown in jade green. | |
3:00 p.m. – The shoot wraps and Williams provides a recap of the cover shoot. She tells rolling out sports that the retro two-piece bikini was the hottest look of the day. | |
