Dwight Howard vs. LeBron James When it comes to the center position, Dwight Howard is a man amongst boys. The 22- year-old star from the Orlando Magic has recorded 55 double-doubles (double digits in points and rebounds) and leads the league in blocking rebounds. LeBron James is having one of the best statistical seasons in NBA history. James has come close to averaging a triple-double for the season and his Cleveland Cavaliers have only lost one game at home. Howard’s domination is undeniable, but James could be flirting with destiny. |

Kobe Bryant vs. Dwyane Wade Although Kobe Bryant’s scoring numbers are down from his 2007–08 campaigns, the reigning MVP has shown maturity by becoming more of a team player and leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the best record in the Western Conference. Dwyane Wade has virtually carried the lethargic Miami Heat by leading the NBA in scoring (29.8 points per game) and single-handedly putting his team in playoff contention. Bryant may walk away with another NBA title this year, but Wade will oust him in the race for MVP. |

Championship Matchup: LeBron James vs. Dwyane Wade If the Miami Heat had another consistent player, Dwyane Wade would be the 2009 NBA MVP. However, James’ personal stats and team achievements will make him the top choice for MVP. At only 24, this should be the first of many MVP awards for James. |
Champion: LeBron James
