Keri Hilson, Ciara Or Chrisette Michele? Who Will Be the Queen of Spring 2009?
These three ladies intend to dominate the warm months leading into summer. Keri Hilson is certified songwriter with the golden pen. Ciara is pop/R&B’s reigning sex symbol and Chrisette Michele strikes us as the thoughtful girl-next-door. But who will April, May and June belong to? todd williams
Keri Hilson: The sexy singer/songwriter has penned hits for some of the biggest names in the music industry including Britney Spears and Timbaland. Her debut album, In A Perfect World, puts the focus squarely on her, and with a little assist from Timbaland and Lil Wayne, the Atlanta native steps into the spotlight she was destined for. Songs like “Energy,” “Turnin’ Me On,” and “Knock Me Down” have been all over the web since mid-2008, but the rest of the album is just as potent. What else would you expect from one of the most consistent hitmakers in pop and R&B? |

Ciara: Pop’s reigning princess returns with her long-awaited third release, Fantasy Ride. The chanteuse has confirmed that Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Missy Elliott, The-Dream, Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake are making appearances on the album which Ciara says will feature the debut of her alter-ego (you just knew that was coming), Super C. And the single “Love Sex Magic” with Timberlake has been buzzing online for weeks — not to mention the sexy video. |

Chrisette Michele: 2007’s Neo-soul Rookie of the Year has kept relatively quiet about her sophomore set, Epiphany, but, considering her reputation for thoughtful, introspective songs, it would be safe to assume that Michele’s album will include more personal songs. Given that she broke ties with her boyfriend/manager and had to sue him for harassment, you know there isn’t going to be a lovefest on this album. |
So which of these lovely ladies will dominate Spring Break? Who will provide the soundtrack to your prom? Which album will serenade your graduation night parties? Will you be cutting a rug to Ciara or sharing a moment with Chrisette playing in the background? Tune in and turn on to see who takes the crown!
