Genre: Shooter
Platform: Playstation 3
It’s a rare that a game developed with a movie license is actually good. They usually just capitalize on the movie, leaving the game mechanics to suffer. Wanted, however, is somewhat different. The storyline stays true to the movie and the graphic novel, which is always a plus. If you’re familiar with the story behind Wanted, you know there is really only one thing this game is about and that’s shooting stuff up. It’s you, playing as Wesley Gibson against a host of bad guys from a Fraternity of Assassins. There is some hand to hand combat, but for the most part, the only way to get out alive is to shoot your way out.
As far as shooters go, Wanted doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Gameplay and the storyline are relatively easy and linear. Controlling the action in the game is a snap to pick up and there are multiple difficulty levels. The only real knock on the game is that there is no multiplayer, and depending on your skill level you can play through the game fairly quickly, but I can guarantee you’ll have a blast doing it. –dark abyss
