Are you ready for some football? Mill “the Thrill” Coleman and the dedicated staff of Mill Coleman Football Fundamentals are, and they are preparing high athletes to become the best in their respective fields of play. Coleman, a former NFL player with the Chicago Bears, enjoyed a celebrated high school football career. But Coleman’s claim to fame is his ‘walking it like he talks it’ approach to coaching and mentoring.
“I felt like I had some useful knowledge to pass on to kids, and hopefully, teach them some of the things that I learned … as it relates to, commitment, hard work, handling stress and finding the extra strength and energy inside you to sustain you on your path,” explains Coleman.
But the sportsmanship ethics don’t stop there. Coleman has elevated the level of play and learning for high school players via his Mill Coleman Football Fundamentals camp at the Michigan State Fair Grounds.
The indoor facility is a year-round, state-of-the-art, full-service training facility for young athletes from around the state. “I had a lot of people that were involved in my life to develop my skills. My cousins and I [conducted] camps within the neighbohood. We’re offering this camp to help improve their skills and build confidence,” says the seasoned coach.
Coleman has translated the intense one-on-one style of play he was known for into an equally intense skills development program for young people throughout the state. “Football is a real-world experience in a lot of ways. It’s the ultimate team sport — you have to have direction and be a part of a team. I want players to know what to expect.” –roz edward
