Heads Up International
Contemporary jazz artist Candy Dulfer employs a limited palette of genres and influences on her 12th album and wielding a sound reminiscent of David Sanborn on the saxophone. A funky range is explored within the upbeat numbers “First In Line” and “My Funk,” through the tame R & B of “Bliss 2 This” and the lite reggae of “True & Tender.” Perhaps Dulfer should focus less on selling sexuality, and work more at honing a unique sound for herself. –forrest green III
