3 Reasons to Check Out Vibe Magazine’s VSessions with Tierra Marie

After making the rounds in New York, Vibe Magazine is bringing it’s popular showcase, VSessions to Atlanta. Hosted by lifestyle specialist, Kenny Burns the event will feature Don Cannon as DJ and will bring out an interesting lineup of singers and rappers.

“The whole VSessions was created to pass the torch in a way to other artists,” says Burns. “You have Disturbing the Peace, Asylum and Warner Brothers artists — it’s about showcasing the talent that’s emerging on the scene today.”

Burns says that bringing the event to Atlanta was a natural progression.

“This [is] where the music is really happening,” he says. “All of the music is coming out of Atlanta, all of the singers, producers and songwriters. Athletes are moving here during the off-season and making Atlanta their permanent home, so the shoe fits.”

Check out the 3 reasons you might want to stop by the show.

1. The Lineup. Okay, it’s a bit … scattered, but Yung L.A., Disturbing tha Peace singer Rudy Currence and Jay Z’s former protégée, Tierra Mari should be rather, swaggtastic (especially Yung L.A.). Still the real draw will be veteran soul singer, Julie Dexter, who’s appearance on this bill is random. But hey, we’ll take it.

2. The DJ. Don Cannon is handling DJ duties and anyone who’s been privy to seeing him spin knows he’s a beast on the turntables.

3. Yung L.A.’s lingo. Who knows what phrase the “Ain’t I” rapper will drop on fans next? His pockets have been on “cheesecake” for at least a year, and he’s already dubbed himself “swagger futuristic.” It’ll be a treat just to see what he comes up with next. -jh

VSessions will take place at The Loft on Thursday, May 28. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
