Sammie knows how to keep his woman satisfied. Yes, the 22-year-old crooner is single for the moment, a status that he’s thoroughly enjoying, but he’s still a perfect gentleman.
“I think every woman is a princess in her own way,” the “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” singer says with a dimpled grin.
Over the years, he’s had a lot of time to learn about the opposite sex. Although he first appeared on the music scene when he was just 12 years old, by the time he was 14, Sammie, unlike some of his peers, decided to take a break from the industry and live a normal life.
He went to public school and played on the basketball team. When he graduated, he returned to the scene with his 2006 hit, “You Should Be My Girl” featuring Jazzy Pha and Sean Paul. Since then, things have been steadily moving forward. With his new mixtape, Swagg N’ B, he’s showing the ladies (and everyone else) a different side of him.
We caught up with Prince Sammie to get his take on relationships, trickin’ and what kind of woman turns him on.
I don’t like liars or a female that’s vindictive or spiteful. Just give me the truth, even if it hurts.
What turns you on?
Ambition. Any girl that really is Ms. Independent and has her own. I’m all for helping and complimenting her … but I think it’s sexy not to depend on a man.
So is it trickin’ if you got it?
Nah, it’s not trickin if you got it [laughing]. Why not [spend]? Money is money, it comes it goes.
What’s the best way to approach a woman?
I’m gonna hit her with the ‘hey how are you doin’ and a smile; I’m not gonna be like ‘how you doin, shawty’ because girls don’t like that. My thing is my charm. I give them the Care Bear stare and my little dimple. If I can get her to smile, I know I got her.
What’s your ideal woman?
A girl that can cook.
Cook what?
Spaghetti with salad, garlic bread and red wine. Or she might do my laundry or clean up for no reason, like wifey things. A girl who can make me laugh. If a girl can make me smile, she got me. –jacinta howard
