Talk about your upcoming visit to Iraq?
A few Olympians and I are going to Kuwait and Iraq for the “Olympic Heroes Tour.” We’re going to a few military bases and hospitals to talk to the soldiers and uplift their morale. I want them to feel good about themselves and let them know that we are all behind them.

How has your life changed since you came home from the Olympics?
Since the Olympics, I’ve had a great time. I was inducted into the Fryer’s Club and I was able to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. I have also given back to Sickle Cell Foundation and participated in Hosea’s Feed the Hungry.

What’s the best part about your success?
The best part is talking to the kids. When I was growing up, I had people who I could look up to and people who inspired me. Now that I’m successful, it feels good to hear people say that I inspire them.

What is next for you in 2009?
When I come back home, I have to go into training. I have the world championships in Berlin. I’m going after another world title and I want to break the world record. I will also prepare myself for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Angelo Taylor will be in the Middle East form Jan. 14 until Jan. 25. The four-time Olympic Gold Medalist recently made news headlines when he donated $10,000 to Morris Brown College after the school was endanger of being closed due to an unpaid water bill. Taylor’s charitable efforts prove that he continues to be a devoted champion in the community.
