Thaddaeus McAdams: How a novice photographer now shoots all the stars

Thaddaeus McAdams tells how by way of a poker game, God changed his life and gave him a new life in photography.Much like some of the music stars that Thaddaeus McAdams covers, exclusiveaccess.net has exploded out of nowhere to become one of the premiere event photography websites. In less than two years, ExclusiveAccess.net has become the exclusive photographers for 107.9 F.M. Atlanta, Young Jeezy and Young Joc. So strong is the demand for its contents that it has been seen on such culturally influential sites as HuffingtonPost.com, Bossip.com, NecoleBitchie.com, Media Takeout and Concrete Loop. ExclusiveAccess.net now boasts operations in Atlanta; Augusta, Ga.; Jackson, Miss.; and in Washington D.C.

In one of the most improbable origins you’ll ever read about, McAdams began taking pictures two years ago. He had an artist under him, but photo shoots were often too expensive. Then something strange happened. “It’s funny how God works,” McAdams says. “One night at a poker game, a brother ran out of money, but he had a bag and two cameras. So we swiped it out. I gave him some money to play with and he gave me the cameras. I was taking pictures of my artists and we took our work to a magazine and they said ‘hey, who shot these pictures?’ They ran my [artist’s] story. And I started shooting for them and it just took off.”

Discovering he had flair for photography, McAdams started ExclusiveAccess.net at the advice of friends. Today, the man who who’d traveled the world as a military brat is now doing it again through ExclusiveAccess.net. Better yet, he brings the world to you through his website. The site also includes news, entertainment, review and blog sections. With his team of Bixby Brand handling the graphics and Brian, Rod, Jose, Jerome helping with the snaps, ExclusiveAccess.net is poised to take its game international in 2009.

McAdams has only one source of credit for his incredible stroke of good fortune. “It’s the Lord that’s opening the doors for me. Faith without works is mute. He sees me grinding. I’ve lost a lot. He sees me making these sacrifices. And He chose to honor me by opening these doors. Once I get to where I’m going, it’s going to enable me to do more of His works. Nothing but the grace of God, and my mother and my father.” – terry shropshire
