Finding Success in Graphic Design
Ron
and Dyanna Nicholson have quite a formidable partnership. Ron, the
founder and Dyanna, the CEO of Picture Perfect Design Group have taken
their commitment to each other and transplanted that togetherness into
a business that continues to grow by leaps and bounds. But Picture
Perfect Design Group was born out of necessity. “About eight years ago
I got laid off and still needed to take care of my family and one thing
led to another,” says Ron.
It also led to one of the most successful graphic design companies in
the city of Houston. “I gained a lot more flexibility, it allowed me to
be a lot more active in my son’s life,” Ron says of how Picture
Perfect’s success has affected his life.
“You have to have a lot of patience. It doesn’t happen overnight,”
explains Dyanna. “But you have to have enough faith and understand that
it will happen.”
What were the keys that led to Picture Perfect’s success?
The Nicholsons share:
Put Your Own Stamp On Your Work:
Dyanna: “I think the personal touch makes our designs
very unique. We walk in and actually talk to a client. We really want
to know what their vision is and we take a lot of time with that.”
Listen!
Ron:
“Listen to your client base instead of thinking you know what they
want. Listen to what they want. Customer service [is important] because
you’re going to get the majority of your clients via word of mouth and
return business.”
Picture Perfect’s newest wall
designs have Ron and Dyanna excited. “I’ve had people looking at my
designs for 18 years now and with the new product [it] really has me
excited,” says Ron.
“When you finish a project and they walk into a room and see it for the
first time, it’s like ‘Wow!’ ” Dyanna adds: “What I love most about it
is I know in my heart of hearts that my husband is a very creative
person. I can look at his design work and know that other people can
look up on their walls and see the same creativity that I see. I’m
still in awe! To be able to share that is an awesome opportunity.” –todd williams
