Michael Jackson Buried, Controversy Lives

michael jacksonMichael Jackson, the greatest entertainer in the world, was laid to rest at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, Calif., on Sept. 3.

Two hundred mourners attended the hourlong private service. Several family members and friends offered remarks, but the proceedings were closed to the press.

Jackson’s five brothers, each wearing a single, sequined glove, carried the King of Pop to his final resting place. His three children, sons Prince Michael I, 12; Prince Michael II, 7, aka Blanket; and daughter Paris, 11, placed a crown on their father’s flower-laden bronze casket.

The LA Coroner has ruled Jackson’s death a homicide. Perhaps someone will rule the LA prosecutor culpable in that homicidal act for his relentless pursuit of Jackson on child molestation charges, which may have been a contributing factor to his drug dependency and ultimate demise.

The black community — and the world— continues to feel the loss of this innovative entertainer. RIP King. –m. lee
