Project Manager, Rush World Synergies
Working to help synergize one of the most diversified brands in all of urban culture is no easy task, but as project manager of Rush World Synergies, Tihesha Phipps does just that, by pulling together the many different facets of Russell Simmons’ vision. “Rush World Synergies is the department designed to help synergize all of the projects under Rush Communications and special projects for Russell Simmons,” she explains. “In addition to working with clothing lines, philanthropic organizations, etc., we also go out and find new business opportunities.”
A native of New Jersey and graduate of New York University, Phipps fully understands the nuances of working with so many disparate brands. “One of my biggest challenges is balancing. There are so many brands under the Rush umbrella, the challenge is finding opportunities,” she says. Phipps diligently works to ensure that every brand is working in harmony with the others for the greater good of Rush and the community that the company serves.
“Working for Russell has been one of the most exciting things I’ve done in my life,” she shares with a smile. “We go into different cities [and] I am inspired by the people that we reach. We’ve worked on [Simmons’] Do You book [and] the Hip-Hop Summit. They change people’s lives and they affect an entire culture.”
