It was chocolate city at the Custo Barcelona Spring 2010 Collection runway show when the designer cast a host of black models for its “Air Show.” The brown beauties showcased designer Custo Dalmau’s new, strikingly colorful Lowxury line, pieces that are made for women to use in their everyday lives. Custo Barcelona has been showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for 12 years, but this is the first time it ever showed at the largest venue at Bryant Park, the Tent. A crowd of 1,000 plus including, media, celebrities and VIPs witnessed the new collection that “has been built around concepts of movement and lightness.” Dalmau uses light fabrics, yarns, a plumage assortment, embroidery and tassels.

Celebrities who celebrated with the designer included comedian/actor Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”), Miss Jay (judge, “America’s Next Top Model”), singers Melody Thornton (The Pussycat Dolls) and Amerie. –yvette caslin
