The Verizon Wireless’ “How Sweet The
Sound” gospel competition is now in full force. Much like the Battle of the
Bands, this nationwide search for America’s best church choir is coming to a
city near you. During the 11-city tour, church choirs have the chance to win up to $50,000 in cash and prizes and the coveted
title of “The Best Church Choir in America.”
GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter,
producer, and music director, Donald Lawrence returns as the tour emcee
with renowned gospel artist, Marvin Sapp (“Never Would Have Made It”)
returning as a tour judge. Each competition will also feature special guest judges and
unique performances by gospel artists, including Lawrence and Sapp.
The tour culminates in a musical finale,
which will be held in Detroit, where the overall regional winning-choirs from
each of the 11 cities will vie for the honor of being named best church choir in
the country. Now in its second full year, the “How Sweet The Sound” contest is
held in the following cities:
