Michael Jackson Shows Up At Atlanta Football Classic

alt

Halftime at most football games typically
is an opportunity for fans to buy refreshments, taunt opposing fans and chat it up at the
concession stands, but not at the 2009 Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic.
To many, the competition transcends the grid iron and is really between the
bands. The rivalry between Florida A&M University (FAMU) Rattlers and Tennessee
State University Tigers bands is just as heated as the rivalry among the athletes. This
year, FAMU’s Marching “100” wowed fans with their field antics, trumping TSU’s
performance. The musicians, color guard, dancers and cheerleaders gave a memorable
tribute to the King of Pop to the tune of “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough.” The renowned marching band executed a never before seen formation of Michael Jackson’s infamous moonwalk
tip-toe pose. Members of the drum line displayed an illustration of the King
of Pop’s face while others raised a gloved hand.

FAMU defeated TSU with a final score of 31- 12. –yvette caslin
