Ashley “A.J.” Jewell’s Accused Killer Denied Bond

Ashley “A.J.” Jewell’s Accused Killer Denied BondFredrick Richardson recently made his first court appearance since being charged with the murder of Ashley “A.J.” Jewell. According to the Atlanta Police Department, Richardson and Jewell (the ex-fiancé of Kandi Burruss of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”) fought outside The Body Tap nightclub on Friday, Oct. 2, after their ongoing feud turned violent. Richardson was denied bond by Magistrate Sylvia McCoy and will sit in the Fulton County Jail until his next hearing on Oct. 20.

During his first court appearance, Richardson’s lawyer, Dennis R. Scheib, attempted to have the case dismissed. “I asked the judge to dismiss the case because the medical examiner has not given a cause of death,” Scheib said. “My client and witnesses are saying that A.J. Jewell struck the first blows. He hit my client three times and my client fell to his knees. My client defended himself. When my client left, A.J. Jewell was walking towards the club. From what I understand, the cause of death was not blunt force trauma. I asked the district attorney to give us evidence that it was a homicide. They won’t do it, so my client sits in jail until Oct. 20 and I think that’s wrong. They need to investigate these cases before they charge people. In Fulton County, you get charged first and they investigate later.” a.r.
