DeAndre Way, aka ‘Soulja Boy,’ was recently arrested in McDonough, Ga. According to Jason Bolton, Henry County Police captain, they received a call from a resident who complained of loud noise and a large gathering at an abandoned house in the neighborhood.
When officers arrived, the 19 year old rapper along with several others fled on foot. He was arrested on obstruction charges when he returned to retrieve his Range Rover. The rapper was apparently at the video shoot; we’re unsure of his role.
The incident happened on October 7, 2009 at approximately 9:20 p.m. Police records reveals that he was released on a $500 bond, which was paid in cash by a Terrell Peterson. The preliminary hearing was held on October 8, 2009 and due to the ‘other charges that stuck’ the Henry County Police Department reports that the case has been bound over to state court. That court date is still pending.
Perhaps, with all of the excitement surrounding the BET Hip Hop Awards 2009 this weekend, Soulja Boy’s camp was able to keep this one under wrap. —cp
