BET Hip Hop Awards Weekend: The Parties Never Stopped

alt src=//rollingout.com/the-test-for-wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/rick_ross.jpgThe 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards showcased what is rapidly becoming the premeire hip-hop awards show in the country. With stars ranging from the seemingly omnipresent Gucci Mane, to an appearance by the newly reunited Goodie MOB, to the legendary Ice Cube, this year’s show was an even bigger showcase and spectacle than in years past. And the city of Atlanta confirmed why it is one of the biggest party cities of choice for hip-hop’s elite.

There were parties at seemingly every possible venue in the city, and fans from all over the country could be seen scurrying from hotspot to hotspot hoping to have a few drinks with Jeezy, or catch a glimpse of Rick Ross. Hip-hop turns 30 this year and the BET Hip Hop Awards is the event that encapsulates the high gloss and notoriety the genre personifies today.

The BET Hip Hop Awards is the only nationally recognized hip-hop awards show that is still a major industry event. As others have come and gone, BET has ascended to the top of rap’s must-see happenings. Hip-hop itself may not be able to change a generation anymore, but it still knows how to have a good time.
Yes, yes yall…
