Domestic Abuse Comes Close to The White House

Mark Ndesandjo

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month this past October, domestic abuse organizations got time in the spotlight to advance victims causes and elevate the dialogue

about the social plague of violence and abuse.

Now, even President Barack Obama’s half brother, Mark Ndesandjo is speaking out against domestic abuse in his new semi-autobiographical story ‘Nairobi to Shenzhen’ [which tells] of an abusive parent patterned on the Obama’s late father.

In an interview with Associated Press,  Ndesandjo says “my father beat my mother and my father beat me, and you don’t do that.” Obama’s parents separated two years after he was born, and his father never played a major role in his life as he states in his memoir.

But with a number of books in the works from several Obama siblings, it’s commonly believed that it’s more than likely the abuse did not stop with Ndesandjo.  –c.p.
