Disney officially kicked off its marketing campaign
for The Princess and the Frog with
the live introduction of their first African American princess, Princess Tiana in a
Mardi Gras-themed music show at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

More than 30 randomly selected visitors to
the vacation mecca joined the dancers aboard the Liberty Belle Riverboat at
Disney’s Magic Kingdom for “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee!”

The high-energy show
features a live brass band, pyrotechnics, inventive puppetry and funky
choreography. The show is performed three times  daily. Several cuts from the movie
soundtrack composed by Randy Newman are included in the 15-minute musical production.

The show will run through Jan. 3,
2010 at Walt Disney World theme parks. The movie “The Princess and the Frog”
will open in limited theaters in New York and Los Angeles on Nov. 25. –terry shropshire
