At what point are you legally intoxicated?


If you have a blood alcohol level of .08 or greater, you are [legally]
intoxicated and can be arrested for a DUI if you are caught driving.
You can be arrested if you are impaired. Most … [drunk drivers]
are arrested if they are speeding or driving reckless[ly]. If the officer
smells alcohol, he will believe the person is under the influence and
[they] will be evaluated for a DUI arrest.

What’s the maximum time a person can spend in jail for a DUI
conviction?


The maximum time you can get is one year of jail for each offense.
If you have a DUI and you are convicted and you have another
violation, you can be in jail for more than one year. The minimum
time is 24 hours for the first DUI.

How does intoxication cause criminal activity?

Alcohol causes people to make tremendous errors in judgment. In
every aspect of criminal activity, there is usually an illegal
substance involved.
