Polow Da Don and Zone 4 hosted their third Annual Thanksgiving Carnival and Turkey Drive on Nov. 24 at Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta
where they gave out turkeys to needy families, and held a contest to pay someone’s rent for a year.
Polow expressed that it was very important for him to hold the turkey drive and carnival because he understands what it’s like to grown up in an impoverished area with limited resources and opportunities.
According to Polow, this was the first year he was able to have the event on such a large scale. The carnival consisted of every ride a child could want, from the signature ferris wheel, to train rides for the little ones, and there was even popcorn and cotton candy to snack on. The festive crowd enjoyed live performances by artists such as the Rich Kids, Ester Dean, Keri Hilson and Monica.
Polow was very proud to be able to give back to his community and wants kids to know that people do care. He knows that people are suffering because of the economy and that they are depending on one another to survive. “We’re gonna go back to the days where your neighbor takes your Herby Kerby to the street for you,” he said.
