In a heartwarming act of generosity, Shaquille O’Neal paid for the funeral of Shaniya Davis, the 5-year-old who was raped and murdered in North Carolina after allegedly being sold into prostitution by her mother.
In a statement released through his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the NBA great said, “What happened to her was tragic. I wanted her to have a funeral that would be as beautiful as she was.”
Little Shaniya was laid to rest on Sunday, Nov. 22.
