Media reports that the multiplatinum chanteuse has cut off communication with mother Frankie, sister Neffe and the rest of the family because she’s fed up with their never-ending drama – though it made tasty servings for the ravenous audience of BET’s “Frankie and Neffe”. Cole didn’t so much as contact her dysfunctional family at all during the Christmas holiday weekend, igniting a panic within the clan, several outlets report.
Making matters worse is the fact that Cole has been seen around the country, mainly Cleveland and Oakland, Calif., giving gifts to underprivileged children. And Cole reportedly gave Christmas gifts to her celebrity friends, including R&B singer and fellow reality TV star Monica.
Part of Cole’s rather prickly disposition could be her womb’s inhabitation. After initially ignoring media reports, Cole, 28, has been seen rocking an undeniable baby bump. She is reportedly expected to deliver her first baby with Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson in March. She’s also expected to deliver her latest album in the vicinity of Valentine’s Day.
Most are well aware that Cole began to tire of the family drama even during the record-breaking run of the show “The Way it Is.” During the final season, Cole went as far as enlist a minister to mediate a treaty between the warring factions within the Cole clan, particularly the emotional slugfest between Frankie and Neffe. Despite Cole’s efforts, Neffe’s and Frankie’s combative ways continue nonetheless. –terry shropshire
