Mary J. Blige’s reported spousal abuse towards her husband Kendu Isaacs has done little to hurt her image. During her album release party at M2 UltraLounge in New York, Blige apparently punched her husband Isaacs, after the two got into an argument. Criminal chargers have yet to be filed against Blige and she hasn’t suffered any severe backlash.
This week, Blige landed at the top of the R&B Billboard chart with the album, “Stronger With Each Tear.” The singer sold an impressive 330,000 copies and outpaced the Lil Wayne’s Young Money compilation debut by nearly 200,000 records.
On Jan. 6, Blige will also be a part of the star-studded lineup at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards along with Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey, and LL Cool J.
