Lady Gaga Teams With Polaroid, Then With Dr. Dre for Monster Headphones to Fight AIDS

Lady Gaga Teams With Polaroid, Then With Dr. Dre for Monster Headphones to Fight AIDSIt was a busy day for pop music’s reigning weirdo, Lady Gaga, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas — who was almost as busy as her hair, which was formed into a sort of hat.

First, the five-time Grammy nominee lent her name and support to Polaroid in an effort to bring back the instant camera. Then the talented songstress moved over to the Monster Cable booth nearby to team up with Dr. Dre for a set of headphones, whose proceeds will help fight AIDS in Africa.

Lady Gaga, aka Stefani Joanne Angelina Germonatta, is signing on to be the creative director for a specific line of imagine products for Polaroid, though she denied it is an endorsement deal with the camera company that went bankrupt in 2001.

“We won’t be selling cameras with my face on them,” she said, but instead will try to “bring the instant film camera back as part of the future.”

A few hours later, throngs of reporters and supporters at the Monster Cable booth met the international sensation with the very curious fashion sense. Lady Gaga is teaming with Dr. Dre, the brains behind Beats by Dre, to create a line of in-ear Heartbeat headphones. The collaboration was created to work with (RED), an organization that fights AIDS in Africa.

“I’m so excited to be here. Monster has really changed the model for charity functions by larger corporations. So I’m so excited to be a part of this,” Lady Gaga said.

The Heartbeats headphones were first released to the public last year by Monster. It is part of the Beat by Dr. Dre headphone line that was put together by Jimmy Iovine, the chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M record label that Dr. Dre and Lady Gaga call their musical home.

Noel Lee of Monster said it was a no-brainer to create a partnership with one of the world’s most recognized new talents. “We wanted to work with Lady Gaga because she’s an icon, not only for music but also for fashion,” he said.
