It’s been a whirlwind year for Zoe Saldana, the svelte screen siren from the Dominican Republic. The arrestingly gorgeous actress just nailed down her first major product endorsement as the new face of the popular cosmetics company Avon.
Saldana, born Zoe Yadira Zaldana Nazario, has already played a starring role in one of the biggest blockbusters of 2009, Star Trek. And now she’s the lead character in what’s become the second greatest box office attraction in the history of motion pictures, Avatar. The James Cameron-directed vehicle has already grossed over a billion dollars worldwide after just four weeks in theaters.
Don’t worry if you didn’t recognize the stunning Saldana as the 10-foot-tall, bright blue Na’vi warrior princess in Avatar. Come April, you will recognize her image gracing Avon booklets and promoting their newest perfume, Eternal Magic [$22.50, avon.com].
“I’m very proud to be working with Avon and to be the face of Eternal Magic,” the New Jersey-born, Dominican-raised beauty said in a press release. “It means so much to me to be associated with a company that shares my values and believes in empowering women.”
Urban audiences may recall Saldana as the love interest in Dallas Austin’s 2002 cult classic Drumline opposite Nick Cannon. She also was the lead character in Guess Who? with Ashton Kutcher and the late Bernie Mac.
