First MoNique’s set designer, now this. Dewey Tucker, 24, a Bassist for ex-Fugees member Lauryn Hill, has been murdered. Authorities in California are still searching for suspects in the fatal shooting, which happened in the musician’s vehicle.
According to California Highway Patrol, Tucker was found dead in his vehicle Tuesday night, having been shot on his way to band practice in Oakland.
No arrests have been made, and investigators say it appears Tucker was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. They say he had no criminal history.
Tucker’s parents described their as outgoing and loved to play music. They also revealed that he was recently engaged.
Tucker has been performing with Hill over the past couple of years and played with Oakland hip-hop group the Coup. He was a member of the Greater St. Paul Baptist Church band in Oakland. -gerald radford
