Solange Accuses Rihanna of Stealing Her Style in Another Twitter Rage

altTwo weeks after going on a Twitter rage about how her sister Beyonce was upstaged by the less accomplished Taylor Swift at the Grammy Awards, singer Solange has another singer in her crosshairs: Rihanna.

Solange Knowles actually accused Rihanna in a series of Tweets that the breathtaking Barbadian beauty has hijacked Solange’s style and acted like she brought it to the game. Specifically, Solange says Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” was inspired by Solange’s “I Decided” video.

Interesting.

Solange isn’t the first singer to accuse someone of “swag-jackin”, as they say in hip hop to mean stealing someone’s style. But this accusation is a very curious and questionable one because most people believe Rihanna is light years ahead of Solange in terms of star power, musical ability and industry accomplishments. But Solange is undeterred.

“It’s flattering and frustrating when somebody does things u did before way later,” Solange tweeted. “It’s actually kind of funny.”

The youngest daughter of Mathew and Tina Knowles goes on to to say that “I think there’s emotion behind it because if you have been considered “weird, kooky,” etc. scince [sic] you were a lil kid, & made fun of terribly,” she goes onto say. “And then u see folk who hopped on the “weird train” now that it’s pop culture to be “different” … it’s innnteeerrreesttting!”

While we don’t doubt that Solange was made terrible fun of as a child, there is a big question mark about whether Rihanna swindled Solange’s “weirdness” in order to become a bigger pop star.

What do you think? Check out Solange’s “I Decided” video and then Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and let us know if you believe Rihanna bit off Solange. –terry shropshire
