The
CEO of Tennessee Hospitality Association recently revealed his racist
ways by sending a mass e-mail that compared first lady Michelle Obama to
a chimp.
In
the e-mail that was sent to a group of public figures, Walt Baker
placed a picture of Cheeta from the TV show “Tarzan” next to the first lady. Under the photo, the first lady is shown awkwardly with her lips
tightened in an expression that is similar to Cheetah’s.
Baker sent an apology via e-mail to the Nashville Metro Council, but the damage that he created could not be undone.
Appropriately,
Baker’s joke will likely cost his company millions. On Saturday, the
Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau announced that it would
terminate its contract with Baker’s marketing firm. –amir shaw
