RNC’s Fear Campaign Leaked: Evangelical Donor Stops Checks

RNC's Fear Campaign Leaked: Evangelical Donor Stops ChecksMichael Steele may need to come up with a more morally soung strategy to put his party back on top.  A prominent political contributor, Mark DeMoss, says he’s going to stop writing checks to Republicans because he’s “ashamed” over the leak of the party’s fear-based fundraising campaign. DeMoss, a former RNC “Eagle” because he gave the party $15,000 in 2008, called the campaign “shameful” in a letter to Steele.

“I’m afraid the presentation is representative of a culture and mindset within the Republican National Committee,” wrote DeMoss, who gave a copy of his letter to Ben Smith of Politico. He hasn’t denounced his affiliation with the party, but refuses to play dirty pool to achieve its objectives.

Will enough morally driven members balk and cause Steele to reconsider his strategy? Will more than likely depend on how much money is lost. -gerald radford
