Most of us thought that that Lil Wayne would be like fellow rap superstar T.I. and serve a quick bid and be back on the street before the year’s out.
Not so fast. Especially if the alleged warrants in Arizona prove to be true.
According to emerging media reports, Weezy missed his court dates in Arizona today because he’s just been incarcerated in New York over 2007 a gun possession conviction following a concert in that state. But Yuma County, Ariz., is also trying to get a piece of Wayne over multiple charges, and they don’t look good.
Wayne pled not guilty to charges filed by the Drug Enforcement Agency, who allegedly found 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy pills and a 40-caliber handgun on his tour bus, TMZ.com reports. This one may be even more serious than the N.Y. charges because the DEA is a federal agency under the U.S. Treasury Department and therefore falls under federal jurisdiction.
Before Wayne gets totally untangled from the American penal system later this year, he has to answer to, and reconcile, these charges in Arizona.
Looks like Nicki Minaj and Drake are going to have to hold down Young Money for a little longer than expected.
