The Game has made a pretty good living off promoting himself as a gangsta rapper over the last several years. Now, he wants to set that image aside so he can possibly win a case against him for exhibiting gangsta behavior.
Game, being sued for allegedly punching a guy during a pickup basketball game and then pulling a gun on him, told a judge this week that he doesn’t want to be referred to as a gangster rapper anymore [during the trial] because it may prejudice a jury against him.
On top of that, 50 Cent’s ex-protégé doesn’t want any of his lyrics mentioned during the trial, because they contain references to violence and profanity, which could also cause him to lose favor with the decision makers.
Now, is it just me or are the implications here extremely eye-opening? So, it’s good to spew those lyrics and present that image just enough to make a buck and influence a generation, but when it comes to the reality of walking that walk, it should be toned down?
