“F— YOU You should be Assassinated!! @BarackObama,” he tweeted last night after the health care vote, then added, “If I lived in DC i’d shoot him myself. Point Blank. Dead F—— Serious.” He followed those tweets with the smugly defiant message, “And … I’ve just been reported to the FBI …”
Among the many threats that the president has received, this one in particular rings odd in that it’s coming from a young black man. One can only wonder what’s driving his vitriol. Obama had already received one yesterday from conservative blogger Solly Forrell — via Twitter too — that said the “next American with a clear shot” should kill Obama, but that was a more typical scenario. Despite the health care victory, will the collateral damage be the loss of his most ripe constituents?
Martin told Gawker.com he was “speaking out of anger,” and didn’t really mean what he said. But he added: “As for the FBI? I don’t really care about them. I said what I said.”
Let’s just see how the tenacious federal agency feels about that one.
