“I started the company from a four-page newsletter as a way to reach the urban Christian community and it has become one of the world’s largest publications of its type. This is a vision that God gave me, it’s certainly not something I signed up for — it is obedience from start to finish. It has been a journey of faith,” she says.
Building an empire wasn’t easy for the divorced mother of three, but she found the strength to conquer the obstacles.
“I didn’t have the money, the education, the background, friends or anything else to support what I was doing,” Hairston says. “I just had faith and belief that if God called me to do it, then he would take me through it.”
The success Hairston has obtained through her television show “Gospel Today,” and the publication of the same name, has opened the door for her to share more of her knowledge with others through her new book, How to Pursue Your Purpose.
