Days after President Barack Obama signed the historic health care bill, Sarah Palin has used incendiary language to display her frustration. On her Twitter page she wrote, “Commonsense, conservative and lovers of America don’t retreat, instead reload!,” And she also used Facebook to display a map of Democratic districts that were highlighted by crosshair symbols.
Palin has picked a volatile moment to use language that can encourage violence. Angry right-wing supporters have called prominent black leaders the N-word and six Democratic headquarters in Ohio, Arizona, New York and Kansas have been vandalized since the passing of the bill.
As a result, Palin’s recent actions are criminal because she has the power to provoke other extreme right-wingers to perform acts of violence and disruption. Her messages must be monitored closely by the Secret Service and law enforcement before something disastrous happens. –amir shaw
