The soireé brought out a host of African American celebrities who are a reflection of the new “Black Hollywood,” including entertainers doing double duty as actors and singers and those from the reality scene.
Among the attendees were rap legend MC Lyte, Willie Macc and Ray Cunningham (BET’s “College Hill” alums), Farrah Franklin (formerly of Destiny’s Child), Pleasure P (formerly of Pretty Ricky), and Jackie Long (actor and former Serena Williams beau).
The party was held at the chic Voyeur Nightclub in Hollywood, which was transformed for Hennessy Black with blacklights, sheer curtains and a prominent placard with signatures of the celebrities that attended.
Celebrities and ambiance aside, the guest of honor for the night was Hennessy Black. The drink was introduced via a series of made-to-perfection cocktails that used the spirit as the drink’s base. With names like Black Berry and Black Bull, the mixes seemed to preserve the celebrated taste of Hennessy, but with a palate-pleasing twist.
