Usher – ‘Raymond vs. Raymond’

Usher

With five singles already spinning on the airwaves, Usher drops his sixth studio album titled, Raymond vs. Raymond. This album features an all-star cast of producers ranging from the legendary Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, to new producers on the scene like Zaytoven (producer of “Papers” .

After a marriage, two kids, and a divorce, the R&B star aims to provide fans with the kind of music that made him the megastar. His previous blockbuster album, Confessions, sold over 10 million copies and still holds the record for the most sales in the first week for an R&B album. With his March 30 release, he hopes to match or supersede that popularity and success by revisiting the elements that made Confessions his best project to date.

With just under half of the album already on the airwaves, these songs may take it over the 50 percent mark in the future:

“Guilty feat. T.I.” – An uptempo club banger.

“Mars vs. Venus” – A nice ballad created by the powerhouse producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. They are still just as hot and relevant now as they were in the 1980s.

“Foolin’ Around” – It has a similar vibe to “Confessions” the single.

Overall, the album is decent, but will it measure up to his fourth studio album in sales? Time will tell. –steve simpson
