A screening for TV One’s new reality show “LisaRaye: The Real McCoy” was held Thursday night at the DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago. Many people may be tuning in to hear more about the reported drama between actress LisaRaye and Michael Misick, her ex-husband and the former premier of Turks and Caicos Islands. The couple’s recent divorce made headlines when stories about infidelity and bitter arguments surfaced. Misick was also accused of rape after a party in their home and reportedly had an extramarital affair with “106 & Park” co-host Rosci.
Other viewers tuning into the show may want to know more about her younger sister, platinum-selling rapper Da Brat, who is currently incarcerated after being convicted of aggravated assault stemming from an altercation in Atlanta.
Despite the drama, fans and critics may be surprised to learn that LisaRaye is a sensitive and emotional woman. She gets choked up when talking about her father, Ray McCoy, and is lovingly demonstrative with her daughter, Kai. Much like other celebrities who have encountered personal struggle, LisaRaye’s show is about how she plans to put the past behind her and move on. The show will premiere April 8 at 8 p.m.
