Jay-Z, Russell Simmons and Rev. Al Sharpton will join several community activists in Trenton, N.J., to hold a “Stop the Violence” rally for a 7-year-old girl who was brutally gang raped last week.
According to police reports, the youngster was outside playing with her 15-year-old stepsister when a man offered the 15 year-old girl sex for money. Afraid for her sister’s safety, the 7-year-old followed the older girl to an apartment at the Rowan Towers complex in Trenton. The 15 year-old eventually had sex with several men and then took money to allow the men to touch the 7-year-old, which quickly escalated to rape. Hours later, two women found the 7-year-old crying outside the apartment and took her home.
The police have arrested the 15-year-old girl, two men and three juvenile boys in connection with this heinous crime.
The “Stop the Violence” rally will take place this Saturday, April 10 at the Lighthouse Outreach Ministries. –a.r.
