Using Sex as a Weapon, Zane Continues to Shine

ZaneWhile die-hard Zane fans continue to sink their teeth into the second season of the best-selling author’s wildly popular Cinemax series, “Zane’s Sex Chronicles,” those that remain oblivious to her successful leap onto the small screen now have the ability to play catch up. With the DVD release of the show’s complete first season now available both online and at national retailers, the visually erotic world of Zane is officially accessible to the masses — not just those that own a premium cable package. As Zane reflected on this monumental accomplishment with rolling out, she expresses a desire to not only grow her own brand, but to also only tear down the walls of black sexuality. Here are the stand out moments from our time together. –dewayne rogers

Congratulations on the release of the DVD. You must be very excited.

Thank you. I’m very excited. We have worked really hard on this show, and the release of the DVD as well as the launch of the second season is evidence that the hard work is paying off.

What did you learn about yourself during the first season?

I’ve learned more about the television process. So when I look at this season, I can see a reflection of that growth.

Was television and film always a part of the Zane master plan?

Yes, I’ve always wanted to have a show … I was just waiting for the right opportunity. When this came along, it felt right, so we moved on it.

Why is erotica so taboo in the black community?

As a community, we were taught to not talk about sex. My aim has been to make the discussion more open.

Stay tuned for more of Zane’s exclusive interview with rolling out.
