Suge Knight Goes After Kanye West in Court

During his days as the CEO of Death Row Records, Suge Knight was known as one of the richest and most feared men in hip-hop. But after being knocked out twice within nine months in 2008, it became evident that Knight was no longer the menacing figure who bullied his way to the top of the rap industry during the ’90s.

In another move that will, again,  slaughter his street credibility, Knight is suing Kanye West for not protecting him during a shoot-out at the Shore Club in Miami in 2005.

In the lawsuit, Knight claims that he was shot in the right leg because West and the owners of the Shore Club failed to provide adequate security. Knight is seeking over $1 million to cover $200,000 worth of medical bills, a pair of earrings that were valued at $135,000 and emotional stress.

It appears that Knight is continuing to search for ways to make himself relevant again. After being forced to auction off Death Row Records’ entire catalogue in 2006, Knight has been unable to make a significant impact in music or entertainment. –a.r.
